Echizen Takefu is a brand-new station built on Hokuriku Shinkansen and is the gateway to Tannan Area of Fukui. The area is famous for traditional crafts such as Echizen Paper, Echizen Knives, Echizen Chests, Echizen Lacquerwares and Echizen Potteries.
There are some workshops availabe where visitors can enjoy making paper.
